About

Greetings, traveler. Thank for stopping by. Sit here and watch the river go by for a spell. Or have a look at the blog articles on the front page. I write about the things I thought I forgot and about the things I’ll never see. Or about what I know I’ve lost forever, but still fills my heart. I also like to chat about my books. I’m funny like that.

What is a writer? Lately, I answer that question by saying a writer is someone who writes. And I have always written, but other than technical writing, it has seldom been part of my job description. Writers aren’t always authors.

Author

What is an author? An author is someone who writes stories professionally. They have published works, which may be articles, short stories, or novels . Some authors are playwrights, or poets, or biographers. But when we simply say “Author”, it is the novelist who comes first to mind.

To be clear, I have written in many spheres. I have non-fiction articles and blogs and papers published in several fields. I’ve written technical documents professionally. I was once hired to write Java programming documentation for IBM. I’ve even been an editor for a magazine. But only recently have I decided that I will publish stories. And I will finally accept the title of author.

Person

Finding Myself When I Wasn’t Even Looking

A native of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, I’ve traveled and lived at great distances from my Shoreline home. Returning to my former haunts has helped me to pick up the journey where I left off when I ran away to join the circus (Navy boot camp). Since I could hold a pen, I have always been a writer. Now I am an Author.
